Want to be a film reviewer?

Would you like to become a film reviewer? Showreel magazine (www.showreel.org) is looking for film reviewers who know about movies. Unlike typical film reviews, we?re not interested in the talents? off-screen dalliances ? we?re looking for reviews from a filmmaker?s perspective. If you can explain why an aspiring filmmaker should watch your favourite movie: what they can learn from the plot structure, the mood lighting, the cinematography ? or how they can achieve those special FX on a budget, send us a sample review of a film currently on release or recently made available on DVD. Keep ?em short but informative ? around 300-words is ideal. We?ll even pay for the ones used. Email [email protected].

I personally have no interest in being a film critic. And this particular site isn't where I'd expect to find any worth publication.

I suggest reading the comments posted on IMDB. Most of those people leave their email so you can contact the ones who you think are credible.

I must confess I did post a comment on IMDB. Just once.

Deadline for reviews are 7 May.

We are not looking for film critics, this is commonplace and not of particular use to filmmakers (aspiring or established). We require reviews that comment on the techniques used and why it's felt these added to the films success or not. We feel that aspiring/new/wannabe filmmakers comments are as valid as any. We will include the ones we judge to appropriate and worthy. Please feel free to contribute.
